Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania. She's now an actor from Romania and Germany. Her most well-known movies include Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. As the only daughter of Romanian acting star Valentin Platareanu Alexandra stepped into the world of show business early, and ended up performing lead roles in various TV dramas before she turned 16. Her critically acclaimed performance in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for more notable roles like Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge, in the critically and commercially successful Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are the other Oscar nominated features featuring female stars. Alexandra is known for her participation in a variety of notable projects, both in the United States and internationally. Among others, these projects comprise British Biographical Film Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time French Historical Miniseries Napoleon and many more. She was also in the jury panel of the Transylvania International Film Festival, and at Cannes Film Festival.
